About

The Full Story

I knew early on in my life that I wanted to work with children. Kids are unique and honestly just fun. During my undergraduate years, I spent time running an aftercare program and was convinced that I was going to go into education - until I took a psychology class. I quickly became interested in children's mental health, resilience, and teaching children the skills to cope with all of the things life brings. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2017 and applied to several Ph.D. programs in School Psychology. Psychology programs are competitive, so I told myself that if I did not get into any psychology program that I would become a teacher. In 2018, I was admitted into a School Psychology program at Mississippi State University.

During graduate school, a lot of my time was spent providing assessment and intervention services for Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities (i.e., dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc.), trauma, anxiety, and depression in a university clinic and throughout multiple school districts across rural Mississippi. Additionally, I was involved in research across multiple different topics ranging from bullying, trauma exposure, autism, and more. In 2023, I completed my APA-accredited internship at Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD) where I provided assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation services to students, teachers, and parents across grade levels (PK-12). I continued to work at CFISD for the 2023-24 school year while I completed my dissertation. I defended my dissertation that examined how adverse childhood experiences impact how children behave and investigated how resiliency factors help mitigate negative behaviors and graduated with my doctorate in August 2024. After graduating, I decided to pivot my career from working in schools to being in private practice. Although I loved being in the school environment, I often felt like I was only able to put "band-aids" on situations and was not able to spend as much time providing high-quality assessment or counseling to students due to so many children needing help.

Since completing internship, I currently work in two separate private practice clinics. First, I work at the A&M Christian Counseling Center located in Bryan, TX. Here I provide psychological assessment and therapeutic services in-person and virtually throughout the state of Texas. Second, I work at Oakhouse Counseling located in Dallas. At Oakhouse, I provide virtual parent coaching services and assist parents in building a relationship with their child, teaching ways to respond to our kids, and empowering parents to be the best that they can be. I often bring forward my training and knowledge of school systems to help parents navigate special education, 504 plans, and other common school problems.

I am a Licensed Psychologist (#40429), School Psychologist (#72587), and Nationally Certified School Psychologist.

As a psychologist, and a father, I know how important our children are. My goal as a psychologist is to help your child and your family to be the best version you can be by providing individualized, high-quality, evidence-based assessment and therapeutic services.
